Unique Pennsylvania® Feeder Approaches “Maintenance-Free” Ideal |
 |
Broomall, PA (July 5, 2005): Pennsylvania Crusher offers a bulk solid feeder that represents a major breakthrough in feeder technology. Using only a single moving part and requiring no belts, the Posimetric® Feeder requires almost no attention.
Its one moving part consists of a circular, rotating chamber that is very rugged. It handles many bulk materials, whether abrasive, dry, granular, lumpy, sticky or wet. Typical materials include coal, limestone, culm, dry chemicals, biomass, crushed stone, shale, sand, roofing granules, wood chips, cereal and grain.
Rotation speed of the chamber is extremely slow, usually from ½ to 10 rpm. Operation requires little external power because the mass of feed material provides much of the power need for rotation. Because of such factors, stresses on the machine are very minor, resulting in exceptionally low maintenance.
By adjusting rotation speed, the machine will feed dry material at up to 1,200 pounds per hour or heavier materials at up to 1,500 tons per hour. Over one-hundred Posimetric feeders currently operate in the United States.
A new bulletin is available which – for power plant readers – includes a comparison table of BTU feed rates at varying moisture levels.
