One Way Hammermills
Equipment
Pennsylvania Type DFC, T and JRT Hammermills are used for the reduction of a wide range of materials to assorted output sizes, in a single pass. Pennsylvania Hammermills perform this by employing three distinct and highly effective crushing actions:
- Impact: material enters the path of the swing hammers, which break it by impact
- Shear: as particles attempt to leave through the cage bars they are sheared by the rotating hammers
- Attrition: reduction of the material by attrition occurs as it is trapped between the cage bar top surface and the hammer head.
This triple crushing action makes Pennsylvania Hammermills ideally suited for primary and secondary reduction of limestone, chemicals, minerals, coal and many ores.

Type DFC Hammermill - This hammermill is used for the primary reduction of cement clinker, limestone, gypsum, and similar materials to typical output sizes of 1-½ inches to 5 inches.
Due to its extremely rugged design and construction, the Pennsylvania DFC Hammermill has compiled an extensive record of reliable service, even in the most severe applications.
Type T and JRT Hammermills - These Hammermills are used for secondary reduction of limestone, pebble lime, coal and other materials which are classed as soft to medium abrasiveness. These models typically produce output sizes of ¼ inch to 1-½ inch.
