In order to grasp why this unit functions in such a trouble-free manner, it's necessary to understand that nearly every bulk solid, wet or dry, has the tendency to bridge. The Posimetric Feeder takes full advantage of this phenomenon. As material enters and fills the feeder from above, the material locks itself firmly into the confines of the rotating spool, which carries it through an arc of 180° - with no need for vanes or paddles. The material is literally being carried; it has no motion relative to the three walls of the spool that hold it. This explains why there is very little wear if any at all - rotational speed is surprising slow and the material is positively locked against the sides of the spool, rotating with it. In addition, the spools are self-cleaning, all of which makes this a remarkably low maintenance machine. Operating Environments
